I'm Waiting For The Ambience

I'm Waiting For The Ambience

Response time is poor for that surrounding feeling,
flashing lights instead of soothing are not appealing;
someone said they would prefer to walk past, not go in,
so mean, when you could just enjoy a nice glass of gin.

We're relaxed, conversation flows, forget all the woes,
in fact, at this level, we dan discard all those peccadillos;
we can forget how many knives have been thrown around,
and when after slings and arrows, you didn't make a sound.

Now, that non - entry was Raffles Hotel in Singapore,
where Nick Leeson reflected on swindling rich and poor,
how serene it was on that terrace with cronies in the sun,
you and I are not clever enough to match what he'd done.

The lights on the old cell wall still had a calming effect,
but in hindsight, he should have been more circumspect.
