Imagine We Had Wings

Imagine We Had Wings

Imagine We Had Wings
Ā
It’s been nothing but days of pouring rain
And yes I realize that you are in pain
Ā
I can really see no reason for you to cry
Don’t allow all of the good days to pass you by
Ā
You’ve got so much love in your life
Your loneliness can cut just like a knife
Ā
Love’s truly an everlasting kind of thing
Smell the bouquet of roses that I bring
Ā
You have the God-given freedom to live out your dreams
Even when your world is coming apart at the seams
Ā
I’ll give you shelter from the oncoming storm
Warm by the fireplace there’s no place like home
Ā
It’s October and all of the leaves have begun to fall
Know I’m always here for you when your heart calls
Ā
Why don’t we go out walking in the new fallen leaves?
Even though your lonely heart still quietly greaves
Ā
While lying in your king-sized bed but you can’t sleep
Got so many promises to yourself you need to keep
Ā
Sleep always seems to be ever elusive to you
If only you could find one heart that is true
Ā
Were we just building castles made of sand
Simply destroyed as a wave crashed upon land
Ā
I will hold your hand through the fire and the flame
And I promise that everyday won’t be the same
Ā
The healing sun will come out again one day soon
Hang all of your hopes and dreams upon the silver moon
Ā
Imagine that we had wings so that we could fly
Tears of joy would surely trickle from our eyes
Ā
There is no doubt that you dwell within my heart
Were so much better together than we are apart
Ā
