In a Blink

In a Blink

Thereā€™s a message in a bottle floating somewhere.
Thereā€™re my drawings of dragons, I wrapped up in there.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my Stars.
Iā€™m catching white rabbits, using my snares.

My devious glances catch devilish hares.
Preferring no plurals ā€“ They always come in pairs.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my Stars.
Canā€™t my bad vibes go elsewhere?

But they smell it on me anyway.

Iā€™m told to be patient; Iā€™m told to be fair.
Iā€™m told to ā€œRELAXā€; As they ruffle my hair.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my Stars.
ā€œWhatever works for me to get away from youā€.
You said.

So, I saidā€¦

Oh, my God!
Oh, my Stars!
Maybe I better find a bridge somewhere.

Oh, my God!
Oh, my Stars!
I wish someone could take the time
To care.

For like everyone else.
Iā€™m just a shooting star.

Hello Max...

We survived all the sudden stops?

The first one is always a doozy...

No side effects?

I don't know about that...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hey SS. I agree it's the first one that hurts the most. Doesn't keep the second onwards from hurting though. Thank you for your kind comment. They really mean a lot to me~

Max good to know you're still on here and you are certainly hitting the poetry ground running.
For what is offered up and so deftly written reflects many thoughts in today's society, that inner voice calling and I read into also -is this all I am, is this all I'll ever be.
Will things ever change?
Lap of the God's, fate, kismet, providence may decide that and a determination of one's will and resolve, to move on is the main player on that front.
I am rambling Max.
Probably am, but hey good to see you writing and writing well my friend :)
Full honours well deserved and earnt.
Your supportive friend, Shaun

You never ramble Shaun! Thank you for your kind words. I agree, this poem is about futility and my belief that society will never help me change. Sorry for being self indulgent. I'm lucky to have supportive friends on here. Thank you again for the read! Be catching up shortly.Ā
Sincerely,
Max

Max you are far from being indulgent you are your own man my friend.
No one on this blue planet is goody two shoes perfect, or lives at the end of the yellow brick road in harmony.
Don't worry about catching up (I clearly never do :) there's too many to read and never enough time for life and attached myriads win many times.
Things change and move on Max, albeit slowly, but always in the right direction for one and all.
See you the flipside and will be catching up on yours I've missed tomorrow, for once I have the time.
But in the meantime respect to you my friend and what you generously offer to this site and share with its members.
Respectfully,
ShaunĀ

Hi Max,

"message in a bottle" is only meant to be read by chance, and that's what we come here for :)

The metaphors:Ā dragons and white rabbits are intriguing for me, like job or career related.

Best wishes,
Yiyan
