In Me You'll See Them Thru

Sometimes I know the words to say, my way of saying thanks for all you’ve done,
but then I seem to lose them just as quickly as they come
Because how can I possibly thank you enough, the one who makes me whole
they very one I owe my life to, the creator of my soul
The one who tucked me in at night, the very one to stop my crying,
the only single expert that picks it up, every time I'm lying
The one who sent me off to school, and spent sad days all alone
yet magically produced a smile the minute I got home
To the one who makes such sacrifices like to always put me first
who lets me test my broken wings, despite of how it hurts
The one who paints the world of rainbows when its filled with broken dreams
the one who clearly explains the details when life just isn't as it seems
I search within myself for any words, but man its sure tough…
because no matter how I rearrange the letters, they never seem enough
What can I truly say? How do I thank you for you heart? your sweat and your tears?
for the tens of thousand of things you’ve done throughout all the years
For changing with me as I changed, accepting all my flaws,
not loving me because you had to, but rather loving me just because
For never giving up on me even when your patience came to end
for always being proud of me, and faithfully remaining my best friend
And so I've come to realize , the only way to say, the only thank you that seems
quite good enough is clear in just one way
Look at me before you, the person inside that I've become…
do you see yourself in me? The job that you have done?
All your hopes and all your dreams, the strength that no one but you sees,
This transfer over many years and that your best was passed to me
So, Mommy thanks for all the gifts you gave and everything you do
but mostly thank you for all the dreams you dreamt that in me you'll see them thru
