As I walked to the end of life's path, only a few steps left to take...
There you stood, waiting with the end of my heartache
Your compassion was apparent, as your hand reached out toward me
Without a single word spoken, you encouraged our destiny
Though I was timid, due to a lifetimes of let downs and tears
You stood there tall and brave, still wanting me without fear
Without hesitation or doubt you were sure this was fate
What a chance in a lifetime to finally find your soulmate.  
Firm, you stood your ground, enough strength for you and me too
Weren't turning away without fight   
For in your heart you already knew
So grateful for your certainty
Thank god and all the angels above
If not for your your determination
I would have never known such love
