Poem -

In my hour of need

why?
in the hour of my need,
do people close to me crumble and leave?
some stay but only because it’s conditional.
the rest leave,
as they always seem to leave in my hour of need,
the unconditionable.
always from the start,
their minds are in the right places,
as are their hearts,
until reality hits them and their minds start to falter,
its then in that moment,
that both of us realise we’re falling apart.
they just can’t wait till I’m well again,
unless,
obviously,
my prophecy ends.
im sure it won’t and I’ll be back on my feet once more,
trying to pull the ladies,
but picking wisely,
not poor.
turning on the charm again,
im gonna be out for 3 months,
maybe 4,
determined to make it back again,
so don’t be surprised if I’m ready before!
