In Sopora's Field...

Amongst the ancient, primitive, lands
When the world was young
A comely maiden
Named Sopora
Had come to plant a field
Of golden poppies
Where, while in its midst,
Dreams and dances with the devil
Came to 'seekers of truth'
And the easy way
Out,
But when the soul was golden
In Sopora's field
The good man took repose
While his dreams did become
The stuff of conquerors
And the birth
Of scientific matters
That circumvented
The law
And evolved into the church itself
For in Sopora's field
The poppies,
Did take a man's soul
And weave it into,
The verses
Of God's,
Scribes...
