IN THE FIRE

IN THE FIRE

Things that were hurtful, hard
Things you thought you couldn't bear
The things that made you wonder
If I (God) was even there
Things that stretched your faith
Things that made your heart fiercely strong
The things that came upon you
When you thought you couldn't go on
Oh, but when I placed you in the fire
I could hear your voice sing
You conquered fear of death
You said; Death, where is your sting
Oh, the beauty of your trust
As faith was burned in the fire
The hotter the flames grew
Your worship grew higher
The things that were hurtful, hard
Grew a faith so powerfully strong
You died to self, to your feelings
You rose above and conquered wrong
Oh the fragrance, in the fire
As the flames grew higher
What could not destroy or harm you
Only gave strength and beauty to inspire

I really like this one too...the opposite of Wilfords above...does hardship make faith stronger? I now know its a categoric NO for me personally...I envy those for whom it works though...thought provoking x
