In The Thick Of It
For my boy

Into the thick of it you cameÂ
Like a ribbon of hues,
glints in the pouring rainÂ
And eyes which soothed a wretched soulÂ
Yes... into the thick of it you came,
and stoleÂ
From the deepest depths of a bleeding heartÂ
In the thick of all that festered darkÂ
You glanced a graceful gentle stareÂ
Then placed your love
Where one laid bare
In the thick of the momentÂ
In the thick of despairÂ
You were the lightÂ
That answered a prayerÂ
Yes you were a beaconÂ
A beautiful thiefÂ
Who stole a heartÂ
In the thick of its griefÂ

Dearest GWEN,
Your love for your son shines here......its light is a beacon to us all......knowing a little about your history has me near tears here..... for the truth of your situation can be referenced throughout history as one of those beautiful miracles.....the kind which lift the human spirit to new heights......your herculean efforts are an example to us all....and the light that your son has brought into your life is nothing short of miraculous!!....to have refocused your grief.....to have brought you a kind of relief.....I hope I haven't overstepped any boundaries here Gwen.....but I am just such an admirer of you and the strength of you.......PINNED!! (of course)......an absolutely BEAUTIFUL dedication poem...... to an equally beautiful soul in that of your son!!......Bravo dear poet sister!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo : )
Hello Tony, your words are beautiful my friend. I believe my son saved me, at a time when I really wanted to not exist anymore. I always say “he arrived in the nick of time” and I know right now he has no idea the value of his significance, or the strength he has given me over time. But I will spend my life ensuring he knows every day how much he is loved. Thank you my lovely friend, for your understanding and sincere words. You are a truly wonderful light in this world. Always lifting others. Many thanks for leaving such kind words here by this poemÂ
