In Lust We Thrust

In Lust We Thrust

As to her infidelities

I am blind deaf and dumb

for you see
I've got quite a few
shapely skeletons
under my bed too

Our tender
midnight whispers
of forever fidelity
ring as hollow
as our love

but shallow us

ruled by lust

will overlook
all indiscretions
for that burst
of mutual passion
we share
beneathĀ
stained sheets

This one spoke volumes Steve, and the title is clever and playful...you speak to the carnal nature of man and who can judge?Ā I think itĀ was John Lennon who wrote; 'Whatever gets you through the night, is alright" fantastic subject matter for a poem and you wrote it with sensitivity intelligence and maturity and certainly without illusions...applause brother tons of fun to read...cheersĀ
