Ink

I am embarrassed
I am ashamed
A first world problem I wish it were
But it's a half and a half

A half a glass
Sharp and jagged
Smashed by folly
Broken by life

My fingers drip as I drink
From this half glass half empty
The edges sting my lips
My teeth are soaked in blood

And the cup runs dry too fast
Tap water seeping through the cracks

But I am expert at bandaging my flesh
Wrapping up my wounds
With the torn out pages of books

The ink dabs out my rouge humiliation
Words on my lips convince the world I am full

And yet....
I am bankrupt
