Innocence

Innocence

Innocence
I don’t know where to go next.
I won’t even try to just guess.
My soul has been put to the test.
I thought I’d be better off dead.
After all of these words that I’ve said.
Or someone would fill me with lead.
maybe I would sink into dread?
But as I wake up from my bed,
I find myself writing to shed.
I'm shedding the layers,
my quest.
To return to the place in my chest.
Through the heart I manifest
a return to a place of innocence.
