Exploring the Complexities of Modern Relationships

No bonds, no promises, no ties to keep,
A situationship, a story strange and deep.
Once the heart shattered, once it healed so fast,
This bond too feels like youth, caught aghast.
Not full desire, nor closeness complete,
Somewhere in between, a rhythm discreet.
Losing ourselves, yet boundaries remain,
No depths of love, no tides to contain.
Sometimes there's laughter, sometimes silence deep,
Not quite love, but madness it keeps.
Words are half-spoken, yet hearts find rest,
This situationship feels like a tale suppressed.
A sinful pleasure, but conscience aches,
A taste of the forbidden, or life’s soft flakes?
A game of hearts, each with its own rules,
Not love, just innocence of two playful fools.

Hmmm... a modern marriage is not a legal marriage these days ... at least it doesn't have to be. Some still are. But, these days you can change your name by deed poll, tell people you got married and just ... well, pretend. I suppose. I cannot say if it's a good or bad thing.
You have a point. These days, many people simply change their name or overlook formalities to present themselves as married. It’s hard to say whether this is right or wrong, as marriage holds different meanings and significance for everyone. For some, a formal wedding is essential, while for others, just being together is enough.
