Poem -

innocence of abstinence

There comes a time

when this world in which we reside

takes too much from our stagnate lives

a poison that taste so sweet

fills the void, the hole in our hearts

makes us numb as it tears us apart

 it constantly inhabits our minds

something to look forward to

as life passes us by

looking for the next fix, take a hit,

instantly the pain begins to lift

when the entire world is caving in

we crave that little taste of sin

that we never needed

when we were kids
