Poem -

Insanity

And that was it
Somehow, without my knowledge,
A crack appeared right down the front of me
I had buried all of the worlds secrets and felt all of its wounds,Β
Until the weight became too much to carry.Β

I wanted to be left alone, my thoughts are screaming at me and they once knew how to whisper.Β

I don't want to be a part of anything.Β
The gates are open and it's all flooding my sanity. It has drownedΒ

I wanted to be left alone, my thoughts are screaming at me and they once knew how to
whisper.

A wonderfully apt description of the growing disquiet withinΒ a disordered mind.
This whole poem is imbued with a sense of dread and resignation. Powerfully so.

Oscar Wilde once said, "The Irish are too poetic to be poets" ... Thankfully, there are a few of us on this site trying to prove him wrong!!
