Intestinal Fortitude: A Memorial Day Acrostic

Intestinal Fortitude: A Memorial Day Acrostic

In a time and place in history
Not very long ago
The founding fathers' did decree
Each liberty, they'd sow.
Sealed with tears, forged in brave blood,
They dreamed of a land so great.
Independence spread like a flood
No one dared berate.
Alliance forged in liberty
Lashed out against staunch tyranny.

Frequently, you'll hear some gasp;
Our freedoms have been taken.
Ripped rudely from our clutching grasp–
Trampled on–forsaken.
Is there any real hope left
That we'll right the wrongs we've done?
United, we must pass the test
Deposed on everyone...
Evil MUST be overrun!

Notes:
An acrostic poem is a type of poetry where the first, last or other letters in a line spell out a particular word or phrase. The most common and simple form of an acrostic poem is where the first letters of each line spell out the title of the poem.
As always, thanks for reading.
Happy Memorial Day!

Acrostic poetry seems to be one of those forms of poetry that people really enjoy or loathe terribly.
I've always enjoyed it myself and I like very much to write it.
To me, writing an acrostic that rhymes is even more of a challenge, and I do love a challenge, heh-heh.
Thanks again for your thoughtful and generous support, Lodigiana.
It's deeply appreciated!
If you were an American I would wish you a very happy Memorial Day.  :)

Wow yourself, Greg.
What a wonderful, thoughtful review!
I'm really glad you enjoyed this acrostic offering.
My ode to the fallen and our forefather's who've gone before to pave the way for freedom.
Thanks so much again for reading.
Have a Happy Memorial Day, my friend.

Hey PROFESSOR!! ?......I agree with those sentiments being tossed about here in the comments...... I'm not a big fan of the acrostic poem either...... but what I did find most impressive here is that you managed to beautifully  convey the most generous sentiments of the Memorial Day celebration in 19 lines of poetic elegance!!..... Topped off with a VERY well chosen title!!....... Great work (as usual) my friend!!...... It is always a pleasure to read and find something new (to my mind) from your work!!.... Kings to you DEAN!!.......LOVE and ROCKETS!!......T xo ???✴??✴❤❤✴?
