Alone for so long
Nothing had changed
My world seemed grey
Colourless and cheerless
I was just going through the motions
Stuck in a rut

As I guarded my heart
From the strangers who came and went

I was scared of what would be

My sky turned from grey
To an astonishing blue

That kept me safe for so long
I let you into my heart
