Poem -

Iron Heart

I want to touch the sky,
the has seemed so grey,
but now in my storming eyes,
I see blue,
a silver lining at the edge of the darkness,
a beautiful voice calling me out,
telling me to stand in the light,
to feel the warmth,
and by feeling,
and knowing it,
in all it's timid reality,
letting it spread,
from one to another.
He as he stands,
battles for me,
I slip backwards,
and he grabs my hand,
he pulls me back to him,
no force,
or anger to him,
just a clear and beautiful image,
telling what I could be,
what he sees in me,
telling me to fight,
and wear my scars,
and my past with pride.
I flinch at the idea,
still broken,
and hurting,
from far too many lies,
too many hurtful words,
too many fists,
and knives,
shoved into my mind,
to little hope seen,
in so many bruises,
so much fear,
so much doubt,
made worth it,
by the man,
with his Iron Heart.
