It's My Turn
Poem about Depression. My experience. My will to fight it!
It’s my turn, it’s my turn, it’s MY turn!
To awaken my soul and learn
How to be myself again,Â
How to be who I am set out to be again,
It’s my turn.
I used to be able to fight this on my own
But I cannot take feeling alone
I need to get my life back
I need to get my life on track
Everything I’m saying is nothing but a fact
I’ve once again been consumed by my depression
And it comes with a few confessions
I need help, I need guidance, I need support
This is a mission I cannot abort
It’s my turn to put myself and my needs first
Depression may think it has won
But it's my turn to be put back as number one
I need to start living each day… slower
I need to start living each day… longer
Because right now the world is slipping away too fast
I am scared, one day soon will be my last
I’m getting the help I needÂ
I just need to be strong and believe
That this depression will go away
And I will hopefully get some relief.
