I’VE SEEN IT

I sat there and held a hand through the withdraw
Through the sweat and the shakes I thought I've seen it all
I've seen the face on a young man turn blue
I've seen death by overdose such a silent pain to go through
I've seen one inject themselves with a needle
I've seen one crying from the pain on my kitchen floor...fetal
I've seen the tip of a crack pipe burn
Death in the eyes of five as they each took their turn
I've seen some nodding off from those pills
While I'm still protesting on how they too kill
White lines cut out on a table
Quickly killing this generation of the unstable
While they ignore I try to understand
The worst epidemic created by man
I spoke to a Mother who buried her son last week
I tried to dry her eyes but that pain is too deep
I've gave a prostitute a hug
Please stop selling yourself for these drugs
They see the addiction and we only see the pain
And I've walked through a cemetery of graves with no names
I've seen so many lose their hope
I've seen so many trying to cope while coming off dope
Some choose not to believe it
But I've seen it!

Hey, great write, Morris!
Very powerful message, and writing.
It's sad how times have become. Really sad.
That was fantastic.
Matthew.
