Janis Joplin screaming
on the radio
a raspy voice
hand grenade
banshee
outsider
rock and roll blues singer
lightning bottled in a song
rejoicing with the church choir
wild-eyed
mercurial flower child
shaking psychedelia
trembling
freight train
carrying booze and wages
on a hot Texas
Thursday in July...
alone
needle
Jack Daniel's
tiptoeing into a Hollywood
graveyard
humming Bobby Mcgee
busting out laughing
searching for a place to stand
on the edge of
heaven hell and poetry
a smiling face woman child
carved on a headstone
frozen in the limelight
sycamore trees
dancing in the breeze
that fucking heroin!
