Jethro pt.2
You had to understandÂ
That the government in the USÂ
Didn't like John at the heightÂ
Of the cold war.
Â
It would help us understand ourselves.
Jethro was one of those who
Could make you understand.
You looked at him
Â
And knew where his name came from.
He wasn't like the older ones.
He was young and the girls especiallyÂ
Knew from his parents he'd come.
Â
So when we went to the pollsÂ
We would vote left like we were broughtÂ
  up to do.
