Jillian

Jillian

Red hair bound with leather
pulled back simply
boots and leggings, with a  fitted shirt
breeches for riding
The woods were ablaze with color
bird chattering and whistling\
The big black mare stood silent
watching her mistress
With a sudden whoop and leap
the lass was atop the horse
like a banshee she whistled
and every tree came alive
Clan McNamara at the ready
to steal the crown's beef
Jillian was a marauder
A noble outlaw at best
Lady Jillian
could not stay in the manor house
while children and babes cried
hungry and orphaned
while herds of fat cows were kept apart
away from the  filthy  Irish
A wee bit of poaching could save the day
and
make the redbacks hoppin mad!!
A great days work for this little band
of hoods.
