Joie de Vivre
Joy of Living
Light
Cast out your tranquil rays
Of pearly hues-
Omit...appraise-
My languished days
A sorrowful decent
Hell bent on chasing empty dreams
From schemes devised-
To blind me from your beams
I’m left to bleed out
What little light I hold beneath self-doubt
A frozen trail
Chipped and frail
Within my reverie
I feel my own betrayal
Joie de vivre
Has sailed to distant lands
Oh how I wish your light-
Would guide me to its sands

Brilliant Gwen you take an expression so seldom heard or used in society today and weave a golden threads of magic around it.
And we would all be tragically lost without light and its radiance, its glow and its signature beacon of hope.
And from forlorn bleakness you write something so profoundly poetic that yearns for better days and better times ahead.
