Journey

these feet 
have journeyed 
upon dusty roads 
the kind which 
covers, and 
stays in between 
the very fine lines 
getting into the grooves 
which many 
can't seem to find 

aimlessly strolling 
through the journey 
of life 
learning, loving, 
 always 
thinking twice 
regardless of a 
hurting heart 
choosing 
forever to be kind 
as feet dig 
deeper into 
the earth 

whispers from afar 
trying to guide 
and lead 
the sound of my heart 
pulsing through my ears 
becoming my 
sweet melody 
go left; go right 
[what will make 
everyone happy?...
yes. that is the path 
in which I shall take ]

hard gravel
to reset 
baggage 
muddy ponds 
to bathe
allowing all the 
grit to purge 
and seep through 
my flesh 
hard cement 
to laugh 
through the tears 
and smile over the 
fog in my eyes 
moving forward 

focusing upon 
the green pastures 
to run 
unclothed 
to bare my soul 
and strip 
away the 
fastening barriers 
to breathe 
freely 
allow living waters 
to overflow 
to love 
and let go 
seeking 
sunlight rays 
to remove 
all foggy haze 
to dream 
to hold 
to journey 
come what may
