Poem -

July Day

On this broiling July day
In meadow I sit
With my friend by my side
Devouring our picnic

I smell freshly cut grass
And the breeze in my hair
Under and oak tree
Away from the sun’s glare

When rain comes along
And spoils all our fun
We’ve got umbrellas
Instead of just run

While we eat all our cakes
And crunch all our biscuits
We watch the sun
Fade into the distance
