Poem -

July Day

On this broiling July dayĀ
In meadow I sitĀ
With my friend by my sideĀ
Devouring our picnicĀ

I smell freshly cut grass
And the breeze in my hairĀ
Under and oak tree
Away from the sun’s glare

When rain comes alongĀ
And spoils all our funĀ
We’ve got umbrellasĀ
Instead of just runĀ

While we eat all our cakesĀ
And crunch all our biscuitsĀ
We watch the sunĀ
Fade into the distanceĀ
