JUST A FEW LINES

JUST A FEW LINES

Hi dad,

I hope I did not startled you.
O, I got it..
you've never heard me call you dad before
My bad!

Well I just wanted you to know
That I am doing fine
I've graduated from college
Have my own business
And enjoying life

Sorry you weren't there at my birth
Or when I got into my first fight
And that bully pushed my face in the dirt

I know you had a good excuse
Not to take me to school
But that's ok dad.. mom covered for you

As a matter of fact
She was always there
Cooking, washing my clothes, paying the bills
She even cut my hair

I know you would be proud of her
What a woman.. I'm sure you will agree
She is the best in the world

Well... I've got to go
I got to read a bedtime story
To your grandson before bed

And I know where to find you now
No need to worry my head
Because you will always be
Where they laid you
After all..
You are dead.
