Just a Memory

Seashells strewn along the sand
The great storm had a calling card
Piles of smelly seaweed
With dead sand crabs for miles
It was a dawn's light
She had stepped out to search the shore
To recall the summers when she
Would walk with her mother
Along side the morning sea
The light would rise
With seabirds taking flight
A few fishermen calling out
Recognizing a kindred soul
Hair blowing free in the salty air
Skirts uncontrolled making men stare
Then with a kindred laugh
Her mother and her would dance
Barefoot and tan they would prance
Up and down the home front sand
Then into the cozy house by the sea
Where she lived with her mom and dad
It made three
