Poem -

Just another rant...

I saw his tears
I saw her sadness
I saw their agony
I saw their surrender

black
brown
white
gay
transgender
so many unequals
dying of something
suffering from something

we are armchair critics
most of us
looking for change
with a song and a dance
waiting for what--
someone to die?

why only the black man
or the brown
or the white
Why only then do we wake up

my hands are stained
conscience flawed
but even I can see the futility
sermonize
intellectualise
cannibalise
our own
look the other way
and wonder why
it happens
all over again.
