Just Plain Short

I’m just plain short,

That’s all it is,

No need to point it out,

I already noticed,

You laugh,

And smirk,

Crack a joke I’ve only heard a thousand times,

I try to smile back,

But it’s a little half hearted,

Not my fault these bones won’t grow,

I’ve tried every trick in the book,

But no,

Please just accept me for who I am,

Honest my brain works the same way as yours,

I’m no different,

I’m no more (or less),

Find some other sentence starter please,

Think of another way to begin a conversation,

Don’t dwell on the fact I’m smaller than you,

Because life is short (and so am I).
