JUST REMINISCING

JUST REMINISCING

She appears gossamer now
Though her form is still appealing
Time does seem to soften dreams
But the memory’s still there

Her glitter sparkles less
But her perfume still lingers
The exact moment is hazy
But her eyes are still there

It tugs at my heart
These regrets
The β€œwhat if’s” crowd in
Leaving me haunted

It could have been
It might have worked
Why must one love only one
Would I sacrifice this future

Would I have missed this love
Gone with out this touch
Passed on this cup of coffee
Told this Love no

I am fulfilled
I am loved
I am safeΒ
I want no more

Mark it up to wistfulness
Leave it in the pile of β€œif only’s”
Just a short visit
I’ll be going home nowΒ
