Kid Infamy
One day he was lost
Mamma told him to run
Papa told him to gun
That he might never be caught
If he felt he were done
And when those monsters came
Brother said
Watch your aim
Sister said
Know your name
That you might never lose faith
And so he did
Spun around at point blank
Shooting like a kid
Hands shaking
Bullets breaking off of branches
As he slid
But he remembered one thing
That grandma said to live
All at once he gained vision
And a heap of new precision
And he made a new decision
Not to die because he did
Promise after all
To his cousin that he'd win
And the thought of idle laughter
After laughter that she'd give
Made his blows even stronger
He buckled as it skid
Screaming like a demonÂ
But goodbye it's dreams it bid
For he rose to his feet
And dropped the beast
With just a kick
Laughing at the world
Screaming best me
