Killer In The Making

Killer In The Making

How grim be the truth of lifeĀ
When souls are dark inside
Incapable of seeking lightĀ
Awake, yet not aliveĀ
They succumbĀ
To feeling numbĀ

Blind, with empty hearts
They seek the ones that feelĀ
To bludgeon out their sparksĀ
In hope to find something realĀ
An evil born
For all to scorn

Destined to dwell in the shadows of hellĀ
Corrupted mind does festerĀ
Their conscience in a sound proof cell
Where only monsters pesterĀ
Never escaping
A killer in the makingĀ

Reads like a dark night of the soul to me Gwen. Bitterness can make us lose our way, reject the light and it can be a one way ticket to darkness after that.Ā
But...maybe thats all part of the journey that 'somebody' decided we must take.
Part of the struggle of 'we shall overcome'...do we though...ever...really?? Great write love, is that your own artwork?? Amazing xxx

Sorry for late reply my friend. Thanks for reading and your wonderful insight, which speaks so well of the effect pain and bitterness can force on a person. I think some pains are just too much to bare, so they change us. I liked your perspective on this right. The art for this one isnā€™t mine though. I canā€™t claim it :) but I thought it quite fittingĀ

hugs šŸ’— xx

Sickening reality, all too familiar and hard to escape if it runs in the family. Learned yesterday that my only and older brother is finally trying to escape too. Love the way you punch with these lines, though love is not really a suitable term.šŸ˜…šŸ˜±šŸ™

Many thanks John for looking back on poems on the site and reading mine. Yes people become trapped in the dark sadly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I hope all becomes well for your brother šŸŒ»

I'm so very sorry Gwen, I thought I commented on this one long ago. I just wanted to point out how well you expressed the emotions of the killer in this one. Very clever and engaging read. I'm going to refer Shaun to this one, I think he'll really enjoy it. Hope you are staying safe and well. Peace to you my friendĀ

Hi GWEN,Ā  aside form the fact that this has perfect rhythmic timing to its metering and flawlessly conveys that eerie feeling in its overall tone....what I like the most about this piece is the "Everything" that is left Un-said......in reading between the lines you find an even creepier potential lurking in its shadows!!.......truly powerful stuff that does find its voice in its haunted foundation!......ALL STARS & PINNED!!......Smokin' Grooves!!.......ALWAYS a pleasure dear poet sister!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xoĀ  :Ā  )

Hello Tony :)Ā
I am so grateful you looked back at my poems and read this one. It felt creepy to write I assure you. I think you captured what I was trying to convey wonderfully well. Which is always so lovely for any writer. That validation they have achieved what they had hoped to pen for the reader. So thank you so very much for sharing your insight and leaving your amazing words against my work

Your good friend Gwen :) x

You truly nailed it with this dark gemstone Gwen.
For if you're going to write dark its best to go all the way and pull no punches.
A bible black theme and content yet a great and enthralling write and if it's not too early Happy Halloween.
Hang in there Gwen and see you soon and enjoy life no matter how shaded its day by day theme.ā¤ļø

Ooh err .. this immediately begs the question bad, mad or sad and although I have a deep contempt for labels I would not hesitate to ask the same question againĀ  ...................... for research purposes of course

.. Tis darker than a black hole eclipsed my lady Gwen ... N :)

Hello my friend, yes this is quite a freaky write for me. I often attempt to place myself in someone else's mind. There are some dark ones out there however. I think it came out in this one šŸ¤”

Many thanks for reading and leaving your fab feedbackĀ
