Kings and Queens

 Glasses for Trump
You can call yourselves kings and queens butÂ
The people who bake your bread don't like you
And you will never have what a sparrow gives
to those who wonder as it flysÂ
The brilliant sky is here for all
Above all the atrocitiesÂ
And there are stars for the shortest living dragonflies
Once
I was pampered I was spoiledÂ
and when you yelled at me in the car with windows rolled I
I watch ed the light flicker in the trees
As we drove down the hill glimpsesÂ
Of a sea of land viewed
From a giants handÂ
wove tight into my memories
The birch trees
Say black and white just right and the colorsÂ
Where Anyone can go
Where the grace is
And men who are kings
With many things
In their sleep they don't know it
The smell of a smile
The love of a dog
And the life contained withinÂ
the dream where you wander about
Free from this world
Yet contained inside
You kings and queens
Are not alone
Your rules and postures
Your sing and song of long beaches of history
As the tide comes in
Contain us all
Held loose held tight
In a ball of light

Hello Ruth...
I think the first order of business is to ask the baker if they like you...
Second, would be the Sparrow should never give to evil though it will always fly...
Third, we can be spoiled and abused allowing the mixed messages of love and concern...
Great write!Â
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...
