Kisses

My first kiss
Was actually really
Really
Really
Freaking awkward
Behind a building
Downtown
Where we thought we were alone
It was sloppy
And gross
And he and I didn’t know what to do
But it still happened
And I couldn’t have asked
For a better beginning

My second kiss
Was on a screen
Composed of 1’s
And of 0’s
Across state lines
It might have been a second
But she was a first
And the way I felt then
Is almost the same now
Because now he’s one
Of my very best friends
And I wouldn’t trade his
Firstsecond
For the world

My third kiss
Wasn’t on the lips
Or on a screen
But more so on the heart
From someone
I hold very close
She’s always been there
When I’ve felt my worst
And almost knows more about me
Than I do about myself
She’s kept me safe
With open arms
And one
"Goodbye, I’ll see you this summer" kiss on the head
Wrapped in a hug
And a promise

My last kiss
Happens to be my favorite though
And it happened
Just today
It was warm and soft
And safe
And it was the best kiss by far
Because I know
That even though
It was short and sweet
That short and sweet
Was filled with love
