KISSES IN MY SLEEP

A beautiful interruption

KISSES IN MY SLEEP

I thought I was dreaming
In the twilight between dust and dawn
When your voice unlocked my consciousness
Telling of your love with half-words

If only you knew, o my precious love
You look so peaceful, o honey, my darling
Words whispered low,
As not to wake me out of sleep

While the earth stirs and my mind floats
Between paradise and the honey filled words
That fell from your lips, caressing my ear

I smiled inwardly, my eyelids flickering
Like a distant star,
Sleep trying to conceal its response
But my heart beats louder and louder

Then you kissed me in my sleep
As I turned into the arms of the morning
Convinced of your unwavering love
