Kisses To The Stars

When you were here I’d kiss your face, so often every day;

But things have changed a little now, since you had to go away!

I still have kisses in my heart, that I want to you to give;

But instead I send them to the stars, the place where you now live!

I go outside each starlit night, and search the skies above;

I’m seeking out the brightest star, where now resides my love!

Some kisses form upon my lips, as I blow them through the air;

With hopes you’re looking down on me, and soon they will be there!

Sometimes I think I hear your voice, blowing gently in the breeze;

It says to me that you still care, and your words do me appease!

For since you left I’ve cried a lot, my broken heart sheds tears;

It aches for you to still be here, and share a few more years!

But it knows that cannot ever be, it’s lost its’ precious mate;

It must learn to live without you now, until that future date!

When instead of sending them by air, I’ll bring them up to you;

With kisses in the distant stars, forever there, us two!
