Knife crime

Knife crime

Why is our youth so intent on being involved in knife crime, to push a knife through a youths heart because he dissed his rhyme. Gone are the days when they had a fight then the winner would shake the loses hand, now the knife is pushed so deep that the loser will take his last stand. The question everybody does ask, why do our youth prefer to wear a killers mask. Do we blame technology that the whole world is in the palms of their hands, to watch beheadings war's other horrendous things in distant lands. Or do we blame poverty or all the idiotic government cut's, that they thought closing mental health service units slashing police forces in half would iron out Britain's ruts. What a mess that made, our country is living on the edge of some blooded blade. Should we blame mum and dad, for the love and attention or guidance the youth haven't had. Was dad in jail or was mum on drugs or drink, or maybe they worked all the hours and just didn't think. That not being there for the sensitive child would eventually turn them so fuckin angry ruthless and wild. What needs to happen for the youth to say, I lay down my knife coz all the stabbings it doesn't pay. I want to live I want to grow, into a better man you'll want to know. I know longer want to stand on that street corner, to make another mum or dad into another mourner. I've lost too many friends along the way, no more parties or holidays in that graveyard is where they stay. We are not evil coz we carry a knife, I know it's so easy  to take a life. Inside of me grows that fear, that when I go out there is no help there's no police anywhere near. Protect myself is all I can do, coz I don't want to be the one lying there turning blue.
