Lady Andowyn
Lady Andowyn
It seems so long ago that I loved you
Above all fair things in this world
In a haze of love I last saw you
Saw your beautiful quiet face
I have long found rest in that image
Drawing your countenance to me
Like a quilt on a snow fallen morning
I grasp for your peace
That deep undismayed strength found only
where pure innocence resides
It allows one to face all the doubts
Thrown by limitless fears and evil
Child of grace;
Have you no concern ?
Of this old ruler's desires?
Of my tragic still beating heart that weeps?
For only your touch.
I am only a man.
I cannot move mountains.
But I can command a kingdom.
I can send legions to war
But I tremble to approach you.
More afraid of your reproach than death.
Please I seek your favor
and your love.
May you come to me at twilight by the park.
If you so desire, otherwise;
you shall never hear from me again
Yours Truly,
The King...

You have a great way of creating images throughout the poem. I was captured by a metaphor that lasted until the very end. Good work.
Well written fantasy poem.
