Lamentation of you

Haven’t seen you in years but I bought you a ring,
Memories of you still make my heart sing,
Don’t know what to say, it’s all been said,
I thought it would end when I was dead,
Regret is not something I like to feel,
I woke up living my fears for real,
You have a man, you have a dream,
Left me behind so that it seems,
Couldn’t be the man you needed of me,
For you I picked from the knowledge tree,
I made the mistake and walked away,
Walking alone and facing the fray,
Living alone in memories,
Praying to God on my knees,
I wish the dream never did end,
Now I appear at my requiem.
