Lament to Lust

Lament to Lust

In waves who surge along the Wolds

The stars are kissing leaves that rust

With memories of lust and glow

Of parted lips and burning eyes

Like raging fires lost in caves

Embracing secrets past in sighs

That whisper far, forgotten tales

Of pain and joy;

Of lutes strung on remote refrain

In search of unison and lain

Like lambs on altars to be slain.
