Larger than life

a parody of self

I was programmed to be larger than life;

groomed to be centre stage,

to exaggerate my every expression

in order to proclaim Jesus' name

It was well intentioned

there's no one to blame

I enjoy performing

I have a flare

though I don't seek fame

But I may attract attention

with my luscious hair

my golden Samson mane

It's not intentional

I'm just lazy to groom

I'm not so vain

I try to do things in halves

they turn out three quarters

And when I set larger goals

they turn out half baked

There's something imbalanced

but it's not hocus pocus

At the end of the day I just need to focus

But life don't work that way

unless you're a rich snob

This dreamer extraordinaire

is nothing but a slob

If anyone comes to the Lord

from my lousy witness

Being perfect

is clearly not the litmus
