Last Night I Cried (Spanish Dancer)

SheΒ drizzledΒ her heart, into a vase
And placed it on my doorstep
I didn't know
How could I know?
We were worlds apart
In Spanish dance, and merriment
WhileΒ all-the-while, I was just
A misbegotten entertainment
An oaf she'd found to amuse herself
And so, last night I cried...
I'd never imagined that a one-time happy heart
Could become so ruined and icy cold
And dare to laugh at shredded souls
Souls, in disarray,Β in heavy need
While all-the-while conniving, in heinous greed
Breaking the spirit of everything and everyone she'd meet
And so, last night I cried
My God, I wept...
It came to me, that it was not her evil heart
Or even her plotted course
But, a hole in her soul
That pushed her into a quagmire with demons
And born liars, that break the world each day
Forcing her to prepare for them
A smorgasbord, of tortured souls
That have nothing else to do but prey,
Manipulate, offend, and find a way
To make a person
Break down and cry...
The strange thing is
I now understand,
That it wasn't the anger
Or the sleight,
It was just the aching fact
That I even cried,
At all..

My Brother Poet Tony,
She casts her castanet spell on him feeling only the lightness of love.Β He was blind to the darkness of her soul, for to her, he was but a fleeting fancy, an adult toy to play with for a while, then discard.Β So he wept, but soon saw the real her, as his heart healed and rued the night it had cried.
Peace, Love and Rockets,
xox Larry
