Last Night's Coffee
So I believe I escaped with a scratch
Carved across my heart shape, above
where you branded your kiss, for love
For a claim and you staked it deadly
You were Cinderella
You were Maleficent
Rewriting fairytales that you once loved
And leaving me to bathe in your torrid
To drown in your lies of horrid
You would never call me back until I wrote you
I drank last night's coffee this morning
Then I scribbled your name on a bible
Swearing that I won't fall for a thing like you
But, I know I will
The next time we have coffee
The next time you say yes

Thank you, Cleo!
I adore Disney so much, I love the fact you have used this innocent concept of a happy ever after to contrast the painful experience of heartbreak! A really beautiful piece, well done! And congratulations xo
Thank you, Ellie. Means a lot!
