Last Rites

The thought of what I must endure
For living an existence less than pure
Fills me with foreboding and dread
As over me the last rites are read
Never did I seek to make amends
For selfish deeds hard to comprehend
When justice is what I'd eventually face
For every single sin and every disgrace
Now as this life comes to a fateful end
Knowing there is little one can defend
The torment and pain that I have caused
Means begging forgiveness before our Lord.

Good write Richard, I agree with everything Cherie said, in the end the need for redemption and the answering of sins are great. My love and respect to you.
