Poem -

Late Fall

For me

Winter was always bleak

cloaked in tragedy

a time for hiding

a time for goodbyes

but not this time.

This time

you swept me off my feet,

late fall

and by the time

the first snow of the season

filled my eyes

all i could see was light

in a place

where i only ever knew there to be

darkness.

the snow,

its swirled and rested outside my window

on a nearly sub zero

 november morning

i woke feeling warm

as if the kiss you left on my lips

from my dreams

was still lingering on my mouth

i missed you

id just met you

i loved you then

i love you now.

i love you always.
