Laundry day

What's happened to my missing sock
Where has my stocking gone?
I had two socks when I took them off
But now I've only one
What good is a single foot warmer
Even though I've two left feet
I'll struggle to fit them both in 
All the way til my toes meet
Is there a land of odd socks ?
Where they all go to retire
They may chit chat and hang about
On the maiden near the fire
Or is there a sneaky sock thief ?
Who comes in the dead of night
Wearing black pants and stripey top
With his head covered up with tights
Oh no ! That's it !!
I know where it's gone
The bad sock fairy cast a spell 
And turned two socks into one
Now they're both together
It's so much better for me
It will be double thick and extra long
And will pull up to my knee
But I still have a little problem
I still have a foot to cover
But that's ok it's laundry day
I'll probably lose another
