Lead The Way

He said child look up and tell me what you see,
I said Dad I only see the stars above me,
He said life isn't that easy I have to look harder,
The stars don't disappear when you travel farther,
They shine brighter with each road you take,
When you stay still they dim for it's a mistake,
I said Dad how do I know Which road is right,
I can't see street signs when I travel at night,
What if I get lost along the way,
Do you think I can come back someday,
He said honey you gotta leave and see the world,
Ignore the nerves in your stomach that are swirled,
If you find yourself lost and all alone,
Just follow the stars they'll lead you back home.

Beautiful work Gina! Very simple yet moving.
Oh yes, Gina,
Most people don't know that the world's oldest civilizations based their spiritual beliefs around the movements of the stars. It's why even to this day, the world's major religions believe that Heaven is in the sky. Wise of you to heed your father's wisdom. Pursue that line of reasoning and you might be amazed at what is revealed to you. My respect for you for an excellent poem- and a beautiful one.
