LEARNING HOW TO LIVE

LEARNING HOW TO LIVE

Sometimes, in my quiet spaces
When I'm all aloneĀ
When the world seems silent
And I am on my own
When no one knows I'm there
And the world becomes so small
I find sometimes, I wonder;
If I really matter at all
It's then that I rememberĀ
Someone's sweet smileĀ
And all the beautiful times I've had
Though it's been a while
It's the little things you do each day
It's the many lives you touch
A kind word, making a difference
When it didn't seem like much
Now, in my quiet spaces
When I am all aloneĀ
I do what makes someone else happyĀ
When I am on my own
I bring my own sunshine
On a rainy day
Paint rainbows everywhere
To chase the gray clouds away
Sometimes you have to give to yourself
What you hoped someone else would give
It's called making the most of life
And learning how to liveĀ

I agree with Linda. This is beautifully written. I really like the line "it's the many lives you touch." That says so much. Very much a kindness of strangers vibe to it, reminiscent of how people were in the pandemic. Bringing your own sunshine is a lovely thought as well.Ā
