"Led not by what the Flesh Desires"

"Be not of this world,
of what the flesh desires.
Because it may start,
innocent enough,
but addiction will cause wildfires,
through your heart,
and through your brain.
I say this with care,
for I know of that pain,
and dredging up,
my old past wounds,
was senselessly leading,
me towards doom.

As my recovery progresses,
I think of me,
the old me,
what a mess,
but I put down that bottle,
and in doing so,
I finally passed the test,
and as my future,
shuttles me,
towards a brighter sea,
I now have peace,
with the gravity,
of my situation,
and my sobreity,
is that indication."
